The Harbor layout filled with sample data for a fictional person. Your own details replace it in the editor.

Who it suits

Harbor suits applicants who want a friendly, structured first impression and are applying where a photo is customary: early-career applicants in parts of Europe, Asia and Latin America, and some hospitality, education and service roles elsewhere. A pale header band holds your name and photo, a narrow left column holds contact and key facts, and the right column carries the work.

How the layout works

  • A pale header with a split-style name and a large photo slot.
  • A left column with contact, skills, education, languages, certifications and awards.
  • A right column for summary, experience and projects, with line rules.
  • Icons by contact details; slate-blue accent.

ATS notes

Harbor has two columns and a photo, which makes it a Student/Creative style rather than ATS-safe. A parser that reads across columns may mix the sidebar into your experience. Use it where people read the page, and keep a single-column version for portals.

When to pick something else

You are applying in a country or sector where photos are not expected (such as most US corporate roles), or you will upload to an automated portal. Use Starter or Classic.

Tips for filling it in

  1. Use a clear, well-lit, neutral photo only if the norm in your target market calls for it.
  2. Keep the left column short: six to eight skills, a degree line, languages.
  3. Replace the sample portrait with your own, or turn the photo off in the editor.

Harbor template questions

Should my resume have a photo?

It depends on the country. Photos are common in parts of Europe, Asia and Latin America, and generally not expected in the US, UK and Canada, where employers may prefer not to see one. Check the local norm.

Can I use Harbor without a photo?

Yes. Turn the photo off and the header keeps its pale band and the two-column layout.
