Who it suits
Marquee gives your summary a full-width band under the header, adds a contact strip, and keeps skills, education and languages in a side column. It suits applicants whose summary matters most: career changers, freelancers, creative professionals and anyone who needs to frame a varied history in two sentences before the reader goes on.
How the layout works
- A header with photo, name and headline, then a full-width summary band.
- A contact strip under the band.
- A main column for experience and projects beside a side column for skills, education, languages and certifications.
- Teal accent with icons.
ATS notes
Marquee uses a band and two columns, so it is Creative rather than ATS-safe. The summary band reads fine for people; a parser may handle the side column differently. Keep a plain version for automated portals.
When to pick something else
You have no summary worth featuring, or you apply through a portal that parses the file strictly. Choose Band or Modern.
Tips for filling it in
- Write the summary band last, in two sentences, and make it specific to the job.
- Keep the side column to the information you want visible at a glance.
- Test a long summary; a four-line band is easy to read, a seven-line one is not.
Marquee template questions
Why is the summary so prominent?
Because for some applicants it is the most important text on the page. If yours is generic, switch to a layout that leads with experience.
Can I turn off the photo on Marquee?
Yes. The header adapts and the summary band stays.
