What to put in the summary
State the channels you own, the stage and type of company, and what you tie your work to: pipeline, revenue, retention. Show that you can run a budget and a team in the same sentence as the result.
Marketing manager for B2B software, six years across demand generation and lifecycle. Owns a $900K annual programme budget and a team of three. Focused on pipeline that sales accepts, not leads that never answer.
Sample bullets with numbers
Connect activity to revenue or pipeline, and say what the baseline was. If you shared credit with sales, say so; marketing leaders are expected to be honest about attribution.
- Managed a $900K programme budget across paid, events and content, producing $5.1M in sales-accepted pipeline in the year.
- Rebuilt the nurture programme with sales input; trial-to-meeting conversion rose from 4.2% to 6.8%.
- Cut cost per sales-accepted lead by 27% by moving spend from broad display to two high-intent search clusters.
- Led a team of three, setting quarterly goals and a weekly review that surfaced underperforming campaigns early.
- Launched a customer webinar series that drew 1,100 registrants and sourced 14 new opportunities.
- Ran email for 90,000 subscribers, raising click rate from 1.9% to 3.1% through segmentation and shorter sends.
These numbers are invented to show the shape of a good bullet. Use your own, and leave a number out rather than guess.

Marketing Manager resume questions
Do I need to list every tool?
No. Name the platforms the job post names and the ones you know well. A long martech list reads as noise.
How do I show brand marketing results?
Use measures you can defend: awareness surveys, branded search growth, share of voice or direct traffic, with the time frame and method.
