Who it suits
Dock puts a photo, contact details, skills, languages, education and certifications in a calm left column, with summary and experience on the right. It suits applications where a photo is expected (common in India and parts of Europe), and anyone who wants languages visible without crowding the main column.
How the layout works
- Left column: photo, name, headline, contact, skills, languages, education and certifications.
- Right column: summary, experience, projects and awards.
- Forest accent, sans type and comfortable spacing.
- Photo on by default; turn it off when the country does not expect one.
ATS notes
Dock is tagged Creative because it uses two columns. Many modern parsers read both columns, but older software can scramble the order. Prefer a one-column ATS-safe layout when you are unsure how the file will be read.
When to pick something else
You are applying through a US or UK portal that may parse columns poorly, or where a photo is unusual. Choose Atlas, Classic or Quill instead.
Tips for filling it in
- Follow the photo norm for the country you are applying in.
- Keep languages and skills short in the side column.
- Put the strongest jobs first in the main column.
Dock template questions
Why is the photo on by default?
Dock is built for applications where a photo is common. Turn it off in the editor when you are applying somewhere that does not expect one.
How is Dock different from Compact or Harbor?
Compact is denser; Harbor uses a pale student-friendly header. Dock keeps a clearer photo-and-languages side column for international and India-facing applications.
