Who it suits

Spine keeps one reading column and adds a light vertical timeline beside the roles. It suits product managers, project managers, business analysts and marketing managers who want dates easy to scan without a dark header bar.

How the layout works

  • One column with name, headline and contact in the header.
  • A light vertical rail with dots beside each role or block.
  • Navy accent and comfortable spacing.
  • No photo and no contact icons by default.

ATS notes

Spine is tagged Creative because of the timeline decoration. The text is still one column of real text, but older parsers may not care about the rail. Prefer Atlas or Classic when you need the safest portal layout.

When to pick something else

You need the absolute plainest portal page, or two columns for density. Choose Atlas or Compact.

Tips for filling it in

  1. Keep dates consistent so the timeline reads cleanly.
  2. Do not rely on the rail alone; dates still belong in the text.
  3. Shorten older roles before shrinking type.

Spine template questions

How is Spine different from Rail?

Rail uses a dark name bar and a heavier line. Spine is lighter: one column, no full-bleed header, a quiet timeline only.

Is Spine ATS-safe?

Folio tags it Creative. The text is one column, but the timeline is decoration; use a labelled ATS-safe layout when the portal is strict.
