Product Manager resume example
Show judgment: what you decided not to build, and what moved because of what you did build.
Below: what to put in the summary, six sample bullets with numbers, the skills worth listing, and the mistakes that show up most. The sample resume is a fictional person.

What to put in the summary
Describe the product area, the stage (early, scaling, mature), and what you are best at: discovery, pricing, growth, platform. One sentence on how you work with engineers and designers is more convincing than “cross-functional leader”.
Product manager for B2B billing software. Seven years across onboarding, pricing and reporting, with a habit of writing down the decision and the reason. I would rather ship a small change that moves activation than present a large roadmap.
Sample bullets with numbers
Show a decision, not a process. “Ran sprint planning” is a duty; “stopped a feature because usage was 4%” shows the judgment the role is hired for.
- Cut median onboarding time from 14 days to 9 by removing three required setup fields that sales confirmed nobody used.
- Ran a pricing-page experiment that raised trial-to-paid conversion by 6 points without changing the price.
- Wrote the decision doc that retired a feature with 4% weekly usage, freeing a squad of four engineers for invoice reminders.
- Interviewed 18 customers in six weeks and turned the notes into a sequenced roadmap with a clear owner for each item.
- Defined “activated account” with data and customer success so the two teams stopped reporting different funnels.
- Split a large reporting epic into four releases that sales could demo, bringing the first usable report forward by two months.
These numbers are invented to show the shape of a good bullet. Use your own, and leave a number out rather than guess.
Key skills to list
- Product discovery
- PRDs and decision docs
- SQL
- Experimentation
- Roadmapping
- Pricing and packaging
- Stakeholder management
- Amplitude
- Jira
- Customer interviews
A skills list matters less here than the evidence in your bullets. Keep it to the real tools and the two or three practices you lean on.
Common mistakes
- Writing about the team’s results without saying what you personally decided.
- Listing frameworks (RICE, OKRs, Kano) with no example of using them.
- Describing launches by date instead of by effect.
- Claiming ownership of a revenue number the whole company produced.

Product Manager resume questions
How do I get a first product manager job?
Show product work from a nearby role: a feature you scoped as an engineer, a process you redesigned in operations, a product you launched on the side. Use the same decision-and-effect pattern, and be clear about your actual part.
Should I include side projects?
Only if they have users or a lesson. One line saying what you learned from shipping is better than a list of unfinished apps.
